Hello and Welcome to our Blog!

Hello and welcome to our blog. Over three weeks from the end of May through June, we three dachshunds are going to explore the United States. We're starting out in Maryland and will travel across the country on vacation, while stopping to meet folks and spread the word about the importance of adopting from a dog rescue, like Coast-to-Coast Dachshund Rescue.

Our mom and dad will be updating the places we're going to be visiting so you can come out and meet us and get to know about the rescue, how it works and how many dogs need homes or just assistance to get them the medical care they need. We're fortunate to have such great parents who are taking us on a great vacation. So please come out and meet us!

Be a Buddy! Sponsor a Rescue Dog (if you can't foster)

You may not be able to have another dog, but you can have a buddy. By helping a buddy, you help support our dogs who are in long-term foster care. These dogs are either elderly dogs or dogs with health issues that have kept them in foster care. Visit the Buddy Dog page.
In rescue we see a lot and are asked to help dogs from all over. It is very hard to turn a dog away, so we don't! We know the young, healthy dogs will go fast but the ones that tug at your heart are the seniors or those that need on-going medical care. Unfortunately, many of them stay in foster care for a long time or permanently.

Our Upcoming Appearances

Come out and meet us at these dates, times and locations. DEPARTURE: May 27 We depart from Point Lookout State Park in Scotland Maryland to explore the country and meet you!

· May 27 arrive by 9:30 p.m. EDT at the Pilot Travel Center, Grantsville, Maryland.

· May 28 - Arrive by 5 p.m. in Terre Haute, Indiana at the Terre Haute KOA Kampground, 5995 E. Sony Drive.

· May 29 by around 5 p.m. CDT, they'll arrive at their next stop in Eisenhower State Park, 29810 South Fairlawn Rd, Osage City, Kansas.

· May 30, there are a couple of stops along the way today where people can look for them:

- At 7 a.m. CDT depart Eisenhower State Park via I-35 and arrive in Wichita Kansas.

At 11 a.m. CDT depart Wichita via US 54 W toward Dodge City.

At 2 p.m. CDT they'll mosey into Dodge City where they hope to meet people.

At 3 p.m. CDT they'll "Get Outta Dodge" and hit the highway, finally ending around 7 p.m. CDT at the Star of Texas RV Park and Horse Hotel 5680 TX Highway 15, Stratford, Texas.

· May 31, their trip brings them to the USA RV Parkat 2925 W Historic Highway 66, Gallup, New Mexico (Route 66), whenever they can get there.

· June 1, they will arrive at Goulding's Monument Valley & RV Park Campground Monument Valley, Utah, where they will stay for two nights, so there will be lots of opportunities to say hello.

· June 3 - the last two days of their outbound trip bring them to Hitchin' Post RV Park. That's located at 3640 Las Vegas Blvd North Las Vegas, Nevada.

· June 4, the last day of the adventure, takes them to the Oxnard, California Naval Air Station Point Mugu.
